For as far back as I can remember I have always loved all things beauty and especially skincare. I recall being a small child and lathering myself in lotions out of pure pleasure, i’d love nothing more than watching my mom ice her face every morning and proceed to lather on her routine of the day. It made me feel so many feelings that as soon as I could, I began trying the many things i’d read about in magazines. Unfortunately as I grew older my skin was not what I hoped it be and I felt that either everything I’d try didn’t work or I was just one of those people who could never achieve a healthy complexion. I’ve been a long time fan of luxurious potions, they make me feel so feminine, beautiful and indulgent in the most exquisite way. By my late twenties I was left with an impaired barrier, cystic acne and eczema. I decided to take matters into my own hands. I began formulating my own products and after years of trial and error, Actual Skin came to life. I connected the two things I consider to be of utmost importance in skincare; clean and effective formulas. Clean is important because in my standards it means safe for our overall health , and effective because we need products that actually work. Through my experience i’ve learned that true skincare is not a trend, it’s not one buzzy ingredient, true skincare is simple, high quality and consistent. It stands the test of time, it’s a classic that can’t be replaced, the one you keep coming back to. I created Actual Skin because I needed my classics in skincare. The products that I can use throughout all life stages, all the way into old age. I have super sensitive skin and by formulating for that level of sensitivity I created super healthy, organic formulas that are truly for all skin types.
